1666: Amsterdam is centering its story on two protagonists split by centuries: Noa, who wields magic and mystical tools, and Aaron, who is stranded in 1999 and then sent 300 years into the past. Panache Digital Games says their contrasting paths will shape the game's supernatural side and its time-bending premise.

Noa is an heir to the Zaindaris lineage and is assigned to hunt the mysterious creatures known as the Originals. The trailer shows her using magic abilities and mystical tools, positioning her as the character who guides players through the game's supernatural side.

Aaron's role is very different. He is taken from 1999 and ends up 300 years in the past, where he finds himself in a cat's body. That setup is central to the game's contrast between the two protagonists, who are separated by centuries but still need to move the story forward together.

Panache Digital Games says Noa and Aaron will have to work together to uncover hidden secrets and face an ancient force. The trailer also emphasizes that the bond between the two heroes will be one of the story's main pillars.

The game is planned for early access on PC, and it will also appear on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The release date has not been announced yet.

An insider previously reported that Microsoft had pulled the plug on funding for 1666: Amsterdam.

How will Panache Digital Games balance Noa's magic-driven path with Aaron's cat-body twist across two centuries?
