Borderlands 4 Update 1.9 Adds Bounty Pack 4 and Dedicated Pearlescent Drops
Gearbox Software published the full patch notes for Borderlands 4 version 1.9 on July 30, 2026, detailing Bounty Pack 4: Murders and Acquisitions, dedicated Pearlescent drops, and a slate of balance changes and bug fixes.
The update also adds Vault Card 4: Desert Dreams. According to the patch notes, it can be purchased separately for $5.99 and unlocks 24 cosmetic items along with four pieces of rerollable Legendary gear.
Bounty Pack 4 sends Vault Hunters to Toxic Scowl, where Levaine, leader of the Electi, contacts the player through The Flock. The situation escalates when The Blasphemers seize a nearby Order facility, turning the area into a fight over dangerous technology.
The DLC adds one new Pearlescent weapon, PRISM, a Jakobs sniper rifle, and six new Legendary gear items. Version 1.9 also gives the eight Pearlescent weapons added in Version 1.7 dedicated boss-drop sources, while reducing their world-drop rates.
On top of that, Gearbox added two new Pearlescent weapons and one new Legendary gun with dedicated locations in Kairos. The studio also fixed an issue that caused loot to fall through the floor or fly out of the arena during fights with Thol the Invincible, Brain Zane, and Subjugator.
Borderlands 4 recently received a free new raid, Takedown at Hadron Abyss.
