Mortal Shell 2 Open Beta Now Live on Consoles

Cold Symmetry has given Devout Edition owners early access to the open beta of Mortal Shell 2 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, with the wider console rollout following three days later, on August 17. The test is free, does not require a pre-order or a paid subscription, and includes the opening three hours of the game.

The console build matches the Steam beta that has been available since early June, so players are getting the same slice of the game rather than a separate version. That slice covers the prologue and the opening area of the open world.

Players can also clear beacons, enter optional dungeons, fight hidden minibosses, and reach the first story boss, Magdalena, Lady of the Forest. Cold Symmetry also said that some progress made in the beta can carry over into the full release.

The beta is part of the run-up to Mortal Shell 2's full launch on August 20, 2026, when the game is scheduled to arrive on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Previously, the developers dropped a brand-new trailer for the title.
