Resident Evil Veronica surpasses 2 million wishlists, and Capcom thanks players with new art
Capcom has celebrated Resident Evil Veronica reaching 2 million wishlists with a themed thank-you art. The game already has a Steam page, and interest has climbed since its June 2026 reveal at Summer Game Fest 2026.
The official Resident Evil account had already marked the first million wishlists back in June 2026, with a similar message aimed at fans. That earlier post said:
Two million cookies for two million of you who have wishlisted Resident Evil Veronica. Thank you!
For now, Capcom is still keeping the remake mostly under wraps. Resident Evil Veronica has been shown only with a teaser so far, but the publisher has already confirmed that it is a remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica, built by the team behind the Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4 remakes. Capcom also says the game uses RE Engine, will use a third-person camera, and will modernize the gameplay while expanding the original story.
The release is planned for 2027 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. That still leaves Capcom plenty of time to keep building interest in the game, especially while the audience is already collecting wishlists faster than the studio is showing footage.
Can a teaser alone really sustain this level of hype until 2027?
