Ubisoft has unveiled the full patch notes for Update 1.0.6 for Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag Resynced, which is scheduled to go live on August 4 at 14:00 UTC. The update fixes dozens of bugs, improves overall stability, introduces gameplay tweaks, and adds one of the community's most requested features — the ability to hide Edward's Blowpipe.

Players will now be able to hide the Blowpipe by selecting the Hide Gear option in the outfit menu. Those who prefer the original look can simply switch it back on using Show Gear. Ubisoft says the feature was added in response to player feedback, as many fans disliked having the Blowpipe permanently visible with certain outfits.

Another notable addition is an increase in the number of autosave slots. The game will now keep 10 autosaves instead of 5, giving players more restore points in case something goes wrong or they want to revisit an earlier stage of their playthrough.

The update also addresses a wide range of technical issues. On PC, Ubisoft fixed a bug that could lock cutscenes to 30 FPS when using custom graphics settings. The patch also resolves various crashes during both naval and ground combat, along with issues related to remapped controls, tutorial prompts, and DLC notifications.

Gameplay has received plenty of fixes as well. Ubisoft addressed problems with melee combat mechanics, elite enemy behavior, Rope Dart functionality, guard reactions to corpses and smoke assassinations, as well as issues involving ship ramming, Edward's behavior during naval battles, and several other gameplay systems.

The open world has also seen improvements. The developers fixed locations where players could become stuck while parkouring, removed the ability to fast travel to unsynchronized viewpoints, and resolved several other exploration and navigation issues.

The patch also brings numerous visual improvements, including fixes for animations, assassination camera behavior, underwater lighting, ragdoll physics, blood effects, visual gaps in Nassau's fort walls, and clipping issues affecting certain armor sets. In addition, Ubisoft resolved multiple audio, localization, and UI bugs.

A significant portion of the update is dedicated to story missions. More than a dozen quest-related issues have been fixed, including bugs that could cause NPCs to get stuck, prevent mission completion, remove important items, break objectives, or otherwise disrupt campaign progression.

Update size:

  • Xbox Series X/S — 15.2 GB;
  • PlayStation 5 — 5.03 GB;
  • PC (Ubisoft Connect) — 3.7 GB;
  • Steam — 1.8 GB.
