A Free-to-Play The Division Game Has Launched on Steam With Over 100 Open-World Activities Promised

Ubisoft has released the free-to-play looter shooter The Division Resurgence on Steam. The title is also available on iOS, Android, and Ubisoft Connect.

The Division Resurgence supports cross-play and cross-platform progression, allowing users on different devices to play together and continue their journey on whichever platform they prefer.

The game is set in New York following the outbreak of a deadly epidemic. Players must create their own Strategic Homeland Division agent, protect civilians and supply lines, and confront the factions attempting to seize control of the city. Its story is part of the official The Division canon.

Positioning, well-timed ability use, and teamwork play a major role in combat. Agents can move between cover, flank enemies, and deploy various gadgets to gain the upper hand.

The shared open world can be explored either solo or with friends. The developers promise story missions, high-value targets, and more than 100 different activities. The world will also adapt depending on the size of the player’s group.

Players can choose from a wide range of weapons, gear, and modifications. They can also select a specialization suited to their preferred playstyle, whether that means becoming a heavily armored frontline defender or a demolition expert with overwhelming firepower.

Alongside cooperative missions, The Division Resurgence features competitive PvP modes and the Dark Zone, where players can take part in high-stakes PvPvE battles. Ubisoft plans to support the game with regular updates that will expand the story, alter the game world, and introduce new activities, modes, and rewards.

In related news, it was previously reported that Ubisoft had canceled a Far Cry extraction shooter and started work on a new ambitious installment in the series.
