Take-Two Interactive has reported its results for the first quarter of fiscal 2027 and once again confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to launch on November 19, 2026. CEO Strauss Zelnick said the publisher remains confident in the current release schedule and is maintaining its outlook for a record-breaking fiscal year.

Take-Two posted approximately $1.39 billion in net bookings for the quarter, while net revenue reached $1.53 billion, exceeding the company's own expectations. The NBA 2K and Grand Theft Auto franchises were among the titles that performed better than anticipated.

Following the strong start to the year and growing excitement around GTA 6, Take-Two reiterated its fiscal 2027 outlook of $8 billion to $8.2 billion in net bookings. That would represent roughly 20% growth compared to the previous fiscal year, with the November launch of the new Grand Theft Auto expected to be one of the main drivers.

Our excellent first quarter results reflect the power of our portfolio and disciplined execution across all of our labels. With these positive trends and excitement around the November 19 launch of Grand Theft Auto 6, we are reiterating our Fiscal 2027 Net Bookings outlook of $8.0 to $8.2 billion.

Take-Two also expects to maintain this new level of scale after GTA 6 launches. The company anticipates generating strong cash flow over the next several years through upcoming releases, further expansion of its biggest franchises, additional content, and other areas of its business.

Take-Two also shared updated figures for Grand Theft Auto. GTA 5 has now sold more than 230 million copies worldwide, unchanged from the previous quarter. Meanwhile, recurrent consumer spending for the Grand Theft Auto series grew 3%, while GTA+ continues to see growth. The GTA franchise as a whole has sold nearly 475 million copies.

Grand Theft Auto 6 will launch on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. A PC version has yet to be announced. Rockstar Games is also preparing an extended look at the game later this month.

Do you think GTA 6 will be able to surpass GTA 5's success and eventually sell more than 230 million copies?
