Take-Two Says GTA 6 Has Had an Exceptional Start to Pre-Orders
Rockstar Games has set Grand Theft Auto VI's standard edition at $79.99, and Take-Two says that pricing has not slowed demand ahead of the game's November 19, 2026 release. The publisher still isn't saying how many copies have been reserved so far.
Strauss Zelnick, Take-Two CEO, was even more direct about the early response.
I can say that the level of preorders is unprecedented and astonishing, and we're very grateful for that.
Take-Two also said it does not know how many of those pre-orders will convert to sales, since some can still be cancelled.
The company also reiterated its fiscal 2027 net bookings outlook of $8.0 billion to $8.2 billion. On the pricing side, Rockstar said the standard edition will be available as either a digital copy or a physical code-in-a-box version rather than on disc, while the deluxe edition will cost $99.99.
Take-Two's update also includes a few other GTA 6 details on the calendar. Rockstar will show an exclusive "extended look" at the game on Netflix on August 27, 2026. Separate estimates from Newzoo put opening-week pre-order spend at roughly $260 million and project week-one launch revenue in the range of $3.25 billion to $5.2 billion.
That leaves one big question hanging over an otherwise strong start: if Take-Two won't reveal the numbers, how much are those pre-orders actually worth once cancellations are factored in?
