SilentPatch's July 31, 2026 release adds more than 100 fixes to the GTA trilogy and brings back cut material that had been present in the games but never worked properly because of bugs. The fan patch for GTA III, Vice City, and GTA San Andreas also restores dialogue and other content across the classic PC versions.

The biggest change is in GTA San Andreas, where 100 voice lines were restored. That includes CJ's shooting lines, which previously only triggered with a controller and now also work with mouse and keyboard. The update also brings back pedestrian weather dialogue, escape lines for criminals, and additional gang taunts.

The patch also adds more situational dialogue elsewhere in the game. Police now announce when they have the player surrounded or when they need covering fire, while shopkeepers gain robbery lines — including more than fifteen previously unused Ammu-Nation lines.

SilentPatch's latest release is not only about dialogue. Lens flares and heat haze now scale with resolution, NPCs can properly use sniper rifles and RPGs, and several rare bugs have been removed from the trilogy.

Among the strangest fixes are a red sky over San Andreas at 8 pm during rain and a Fort Carson explosion caused by a plane spawning incorrectly in a driveway. The patch also corrects a long list of small issues across the classic PC versions of the trilogy.

Do restored dialogue and obscure bug fixes make SilentPatch essential for replaying the GTA trilogy on PC?
