Freebie: Epic Games Store Is Giving Away Indie Horror Cat Named Mojave

Epic Games Store is giving away copies of the surreal indie horror game Cat Named Mojave for absolutely free right now. Gamers can claim the title and add it to their permanent library until August 15, 2026.

The plot of Cat Named Mojave follows an unnamed protagonist who finds themselves stranded in the middle of a desolate desert with a dead car battery. Their only hope for survival rests on a creepy, mentally unstable anthropomorphic cat named Mojave. He agrees to lend a hand, but only if the player tags along on a nightly hunt for strange and highly dangerous creatures. The game currently boasts a stellar 95% positive review rating on Steam.

In other news, a free-to-play multiplayer horror shooter called SCP: ReEnter, built entirely by a solo developer, recently launched in Steam Early Access. On top of that, Valve's storefront just dropped a free standalone prologue for the first-person zombie shooter Quarantine Zombies.
