The Lord of the Rings: War in the North Remaster Surprise-Launches on PC and Consoles
Aspyr Media has shadow-dropped The Lord of the Rings: War in the North — Legacy Edition for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
The Legacy Edition is a remaster of the 2011 co-op action RPG originally developed by Snowblind Studios, which had been unavailable for purchase for years due to expired licensing issues. The game's narrative runs parallel to the main events of The Lord of the Rings trilogy. While Frodo carries the One Ring south, a new shadow rises in the north of Middle-earth. The main antagonist is Agandaûr, a powerful Black Númenórean and servant of Sauron, who is rallying a massive army to crush the free peoples of the North. The remaster is currently retailing for $20 on the US Steam storefront.
It is worth noting that a major expansion titled The Wolves of Mordor was recently announced for The Lord of the Rings Online. Prior to this, Amazon dropped the debut teaser trailer for the third season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
