WARDOGS Devs Release a Video Listing 10 Reasons Not to Buy the Shooter
BULKHEAD has released a new WARDOGS video designed to set expectations for prospective players before the Steam Early Access launch on Steam on 10 September 2026. The studio says the clip is meant to be an unusually frank look at the game's current state rather than a polished pitch.
The accompanying post points to a rough Early Access build, citing bugs, performance issues, weak controller support, and planned price changes as part of the game's development. BULKHEAD also says there will be no monetization during Early Access, and that WARDOGS will not sell in-game currency, gold bars, or status camo purchases.
There is one exception: an optional supporter edition that includes only a few cosmetic items. The studio says pricing will rise in stages as the game develops, and that the Early Access launch price will be $39.99.
WARDOGS is being pitched as a tactical shooter for 100 players split into three rival teams fighting over a control zone. At Early Access launch, the game will include three maps, each with three variants.
BULKHEAD says local voice chat is a risk because all three teams can hear it, so enemies may overhear plans. That warning fits the broader message of the campaign: the developers would rather tell players what is missing now than oversell the release.
[div]Joe Brammer, CEO of BULKHEAD, says preorder buyers will also get access to the closed beta so they can judge the game for themselves. He adds that if players try it and decide it is not for them, that is completely normal.[/div]
Does WARDOGS' blunt marketing make you trust the studio more, or does it raise more questions about the launch?
