Mandate Order Launches in Early Access on PC

Digital Sky has released Mandate Order in early access on PC, and the Steam version supports 12 languages while setting players in ancient China during the Warring States era. The Steam page lists the game as available on August 12.

Mandate Order starts with a vulnerable border settlement and asks players to turn it into a self-sufficient state. Construction is freeform and not tied to a grid, so houses, wells, fields, warehouses, workshops, barracks, armories, roads, walls, and fortifications can all be placed as needed.

The game also leans heavily on seasonal management. Spring plowing, summer crop care, autumn harvest, and winter stockpiling affect not only the look of the settlement, but also resources, population control, and whether a campaign is even possible. Advisers drawn from the Hundred Schools of Thought add another layer, including Confucians, Daoists, Mohists, Legalists, and military school representatives.

Combat is built around formations drawn with the mouse, plus encirclement, breakthrough, assault, and defense. Digital Sky says thousands of soldiers can appear on the battlefield at once, and the studio describes chariot attacks, fortress defense, mass battles, and a pseudo-physical knockback system as part of what makes ancient warfare feel more dramatic.

Digital Sky plans to keep Mandate Order in early access for about a year before version 1.0. The studio says the full release will arrive only when the main content, overall stability, and long-term gameplay experience meet its standards.
