Palworld Lead Says the Game Has Rejected a Huge Number of Collaboration Offers
John "Bucky" Buckley says many crossover pitches for Palworld were rejected or scrapped because they did not fit the game.
Buckley said he understands why some players would prefer a more lore-first approach, but added that Pocketpair has been very open about its fun-first approach since day one. In the same message, he called the Terraria collaboration in Palworld pretty great.
I think the Terraria collab in Palworld was pretty great! Completely understand some people would prefer a more lore-first approach but we've been very open about our fun-first approach since day 1!
The studio has already lined up collaborations with Palworld, Terraria, Valheim, and Ultrakill, according to GamesRadar. Even so, Buckley said Pocketpair would never go ahead with a crossover if it did not make sense.
If it really doesn't make sense then obviously we would never go ahead with it. You guys simply do not realize the sheer number of collabs we've rejected or scrapped for that reason.
The timing is notable because Palworld has already launched its 1.0 version, and its official launch trailer says the game is available now on Xbox. That means crossover decisions are being made for a game that is already well past its initial release.
Would Palworld work better with more crossover surprises, or should Pocketpair keep rejecting the ill-fitting ones?
