Ark: Survival Evolved Official Nintendo Switch Servers to Shut Down on August 31

Studio Wildcard says Nintendo Switch owners will lose official multiplayer access for Ark: Survival Evolved and Ark: Ultimate Survivor Edition on August 31, 2026, but the game will remain available on the platform.

After that date, single-player mode will still be fully playable, and unofficial servers will continue to be accessible. Existing owners will also keep access to everything outside the official servers, so the shutdown does not remove the game's offline or community-run options.

Studio Wildcard also said there are no plans to delist the game from the Nintendo eShop. In other words, players on Switch will still be able to buy and keep the game even as official multiplayer support comes to an end.

The studio noted that more than one million players have used these servers since the original Switch release in November 2018 and the launch of Grove Street Games' rebuilt remaster in 2022. That version was criticized at launch for poor graphics quality, although several patches later improved the visuals.

For Nintendo Switch owners, the main change is that Ark: Survival Evolved's official online play is ending, while the eShop listing, single-player mode, and unofficial servers remain intact.
