Crimson Desert gets patches 1.18.00 and 1.18.01, fixing NPC, map, and UI bugs
Pearl Abyss has used Crimson Desert patches 1.18.00 and 1.18.01 to smooth out the game's camera controls, progression systems, and several lingering interface and rendering issues. The two updates also change how quest knowledge is organized and how research currency works.
Patch 1.18.00 adds three camera targeting modes: manual, semi-auto, and auto. It also introduces a new quest knowledge category split into eight sections and changes the currency used for research from silver to camp funds.
The same patch also addresses technical problems on some GPUs. Pearl Abyss says it fixed rendering issues on certain GTX 1060 cards when frame generation was enabled with FSR or XeSS, and removed a bug that could make the image shake during camera control at low frame rates.
Hotfix 1.18.01 deals with smaller but still annoying problems. It fixes a delay in the interaction menu when talking to an NPC with a lantern lit, and restores house items from version 1.12.00 or earlier that could stop displaying.
The hotfix also corrects unexpected crashes after launch in some situations and fixes incorrect rendering in some map areas. At the moment, 1.18.01 is available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, while the Mac App Store version is still in development.
Are these fixes enough to bring you back to Crimson Desert right now?
