On August 20, the hit battle royale Fortnite is set to launch its brand-new season, titled Override. In a freshly released trailer, Epic Games showcased a stellar lineup of iconic characters from various gaming franchises, with Sonic the Hedgehog, Persona's Joker, Mega Man, and Crash Bandicoot taking center stage.

The action-packed teaser also gives brief glimpses of Pac-Man, Mortal Kombat fighters, Spyro the Dragon, Jazz Jackrabbit, and even the Stag from the Roblox title 99 Nights on the Forest. Rather than a series of isolated collaborations, Epic Games is framing this entire season as one massive, interconnected crossover event.

The trailer lays out a clear and urgent mission for players: reclaim the Island and stop Geno before it’s literally GAME OVER. This confirms that the upcoming season will weave these famous gaming icons directly into a brand-new conflict central to Fortnite’s own ongoing lore.

It is worth noting that back in July, Fortnite introduced themed content inspired by Christopher Nolan's epic film The Odyssey.
