Battlefield 6 Is Temporarily Free Again on PC and Consoles

Electronic Arts has launched another free week for Battlefield 6. From August 18 through August 25, 2026, players can try out the shooter's multiplayer without purchasing the full game. The promotion is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

To access the free trial, players need to download the free-to-play Battlefield REDSEC (Steam, PS Store, and Xbox Store) on their platform of choice. Once installed, it will grant temporary access to Battlefield 6 content. After the promotion ends, players will need to purchase the full game to continue playing.

The free period includes six multiplayer modes across four maps: Tsuru Reef, Wake Island, Cairo Bazaar, and Hagental Base. Available modes include the classic Conquest and Breakthrough, as well as the new Top Gun: Carrier Strike mode.

The promotion coincides with the release of the major 1.4.2.0 update and a crossover with Top Gun. The update introduced themed content, with Carrier Strike—focused on aerial combat—serving as one of its biggest additions. EA also highlighted the return of Wake Island on the game's official website.

This is not the first Battlefield 6 free promotion of 2026. A similar trial period was held in March, followed by another free week in June.

By the way, we previously published our Battlefield 6 multiplayer review.
