Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 Gets a Netflix Premiere Date With Third Teaser
A third teaser for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 shows that the anime will tell a standalone 10-episode story in the world of Cyberpunk 2077, with premiere on October 20, 2026 now set by Netflix.
The new story is set in Night City, but it will not continue David Martinez's arc directly. Instead, the teaser introduces a fresh cast and frames the project as a raw chronicle of redemption and revenge.
The main characters are Wik Kingsley, Talia Young, D, and Roman Karak. The official YouTube description sums up the setup as:
A washed up edgerunner & a killer netrunner in Night City... what could go wrong?
Wik Kingsley takes the spotlight in the teaser. He is a veteran edgerunner who used to be known as "King", now lives in the shadow of his old reputation, and has to get by without chrome. Clancy Brown voices Wik in the English version.
The anime is produced by studio TRIGGER together with CD Projekt RED. Kai Ikarashi is directing the series, while Bartosz Sztybor serves as showrunner, writer, and producer.
Are you glad Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is telling a standalone story instead of directly continuing David Martinez's journey?
