Dotemu Launches Free-to-Play Bomberman-Inspired Party Game Blasterbug: Last Bug Standing! on Steam

In a surprise shadow-drop, developer and publisher Dotemu has officially released Blasterbug: Last Bug Standing!, a free-to-play multiplayer arcade action game heavily inspired by the classic Bomberman series. The title is available to download right now on Steam.

The core gameplay of Blasterbug: Last Bug Standing! revolves around chaotic insect battles across dynamically evolving arenas. Players rely on explosive "Pome-grenades" and good old-fashioned punches to eliminate their rivals. The game features a roster of 15 unique bugs, each equipped with dedicated special moves. For instance, the Spider can deploy a sticky web to trap opponents, the Fly can zip out of deadly hazards, and the Beetle can roll a destructive flaming dung ball across the stage.

Battles take place across 15 distinct maps, each introducing unique environmental mechanics. Players will have to navigate dangerous traps inside a Temple, dodge flying spoons in a chaotic Kitchen, or weave through oncoming traffic on the fast lanes of Bugville. Blasterbug offers five different game modes to choose from: the classic last-bug-standing Death Battle, the gold-grabbing Coin Battle, a king-of-the-hill style Crown Battle, a turf-covering Paint Battle, and a chaotic Party Battle that mixes everything together with random gameplay modifiers.
