Star Wars Zero Company Fans Demand Long-Term Support From EA
Immediately following the game's release, Star Wars Zero Company players urged the developers to commit to robust post-launch support, fearing the project might face the same sudden end as Star Wars: Battlefront 2.
Fans have been vocal about wanting new weapons, classes, playable characters, missions, and story-driven expansions. The community is worried Electronic Arts might pull the plug on future content updates prematurely—a move players felt derailed Battlefront 2 right as it hit its stride.
So far, developer Bit Reactor is playing its cards close to its chest. Greg Foertsch, studio founder and game director, stated that the team is currently hyper-focused on polishing the launch experience. However, Foertsch teased that the studio remains incredibly passionate about building out their corner of the Star Wars galaxy, hinting that Bit Reactor's next project will likely leverage an existing franchise as well.
Zero Company is already off to a flying start. At the time of writing, the game holds a strong 86 average score on Metacritic. Furthermore, the new release outpaced both Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars: Battlefront 2 in Steam popularity, commanding an impressive peak concurrent player count of 74,834.
In other franchise news, Lucasfilm recently dropped a new trailer for the upcoming LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian special.
