Street Fighter trailer leans into flashy fighting-game spectacle ahead of October 16 premiere

The latest look at Street Fighter goes big on swagger, brute-force clashes, and the sort of comic-book excess that the series is known for. Legendary Pictures and Paramount Pictures have released a new trailer for the Street Fighter, and the movie is set to hit theaters on October 16, 2026.

The story is set in 1993, when Chun-Li brings Ryu and Ken Masters into the World Warrior Tournament. But the contest is only a front: behind it sits a deadly conspiracy, which gives the movie a more serious hook beneath the spectacle.

The trailer puts the strained friendship between Ryu and Ken at the center of that setup. That emotional tension is the backbone of the footage, with the old friends forced back together even as conflict between them keeps building.

The cast is packed with familiar names from the fighting-game world and beyond. Andrew Koji plays Ryu, Noah Centineo plays Ken Masters, and Callina Liang plays Chun-Li, while David Dastmalchian is M. Bison and Cody Rhodes is Guile. The film also stars Jason Momoa as Blanka.

As for the action itself, the trailer leans hard into game-derived moves and exaggerated combat. It includes Hadoukens, Tatsumaki Senpukyaku, Zangief's Russian Suplex, and Chun-Li's Spinning Bird Kick, all of which help sell the movie's knowingly flashy tone.
