Marvel's Wolverine Reaches 20 FPS in New PS5 Emulator Test
Unreal Gaming PC published footage of Marvel's Wolverine on the latest KyTyPS5 build, showing the game's heaviest scenes still struggling despite a higher peak than earlier attempts. The test used Senaxx's bb8f49c build, released on September 30, 2026, and most areas still ran at just 6-9 FPS, which remains too low for comfortable play.
The result marks progress from earlier tests: on September 28, the emulator reportedly managed to open the game's menu at around 2 FPS, then reached videos and gameplay at about 3 FPS the following day. Those tests used different computers, so the results are not directly comparable.
The latest test ran on a PC with an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 graphics card. An on-screen overlay indicated that the game could use all of the graphics card's video memory, but the cause of the performance drops remains unclear: it could be a VRAM or CPU bottleneck. The footage showed gameplay, with no major visual issues noted in the report.
Marvel's Wolverine, developed by Insomniac Games, was released exclusively for PlayStation 5 on September 15, 2026. Sony has not announced a PC version, so the emulator test offers a glimpse of the game running on PC, but the low frame rate remains a major obstacle.
What do you think will happen first: a playable Marvel's Wolverine on KyTyPS5 or an official PC version from Sony?
