Who is the Three-Legged Girl in Sons of the Forest
The three-legged girl you'll often encounter during the game is Virginia Puffton. There's no specific information about this character, but if you progress far enough in the story, you'll find her access card, which is labeled as a VIP card. It turns out she is the daughter of a millionaire who disappeared on this island. Most likely, after some incident, the girl underwent mutation.
The girl is not dangerous. On the contrary, initially, she will avoid you at all costs. Players can kill her, but there's no point in doing so. After death, she doesn't drop any loot, and her body can't even be butchered, unlike the local natives.
How to Tame Virginia and Make Her Your Companion
If you don't attack the girl, she will start visiting your camp more often. Closer to winter, Virginia will stop fearing you and will approach closer. Every time you see her, hide your weapon. This will signal to her that you mean no harm.
Initially, when you see Virginia, remove all weapons from your hands (key G) and don't try to scare her with the severed limbs of cannibals. Even if you've hurt her but didn't kill her, she will visit your camp later. She will start observing from a safe distance, then approach closer. After 5-10 days, she will stop fearing the player.
You simply need to wait until she approaches close enough. At that moment, an interaction button will appear. Hold it to hand the woman a weapon.
We also recommend attaching one of the three GPS beacons you've found in the story to Virginia. You can choose which marker icon it will display on your radar beforehand. To do this, open the inventory, select the beacon, and assign it a marker. From this point, you are free to track the girl's movements on the map.
As for weapons, you can give the woman any pistol (9x18) and shotgun. It's not necessary to share ammunition — Virginia will explore the island herself and find the necessary ammo.
You can't give her orders. She will often be near your camp and fend off enemies with the weapon you provided her.
How to Feed and Heal Virginia
Just like Kelvin, Virginia does not require food. However, if she is attacked by natives or monsters, she may lose consciousness. Simply approach her and press the interaction button to help her recover. The same principle applies to healing your first companion.
Can Virginia Die
Both companions in the game can die if you kill them yourself. In most cases, cannibals and monsters do not finish off these heroes after knocking them to the ground. If you witness this, we recommend helping your companion as quickly as possible. However, if you move away to a considerable distance, you will notice that after some time, the girl will get up on her own and join you again.
What Benefits Does Virginia Provide to the Player
Sometimes she will bring you rare herbs and food. Virginia is particularly fond of harvesting aloe vera—a quite useful plant necessary for making healing mixtures.
She may also catch fish or small animals, like a squirrel. But the main value of this companion is not in foraging.
From time to time, cannibals will raid your camp. This will become noticeable after progressing about halfway through the story line. Enemies will become stronger and more numerous. After completing the story, you will also encounter various monsters visiting you every few days.
If you arm Virginia with a pistol and a shotgun, she will be an excellent defender of your shelter. As we already noted, she can find ammunition for the guns on her own.
How to Change Virginia's Clothes
As you explore the island, you will find several sets of clothes for both Kelvin and Virginia. Currently, there is only one known outfit, located in one of the underground bunkers. You can transfer clothes through the interaction menu, just like weapons.
Is It Possible to Have a Romantic Relationship with Virginia
At the moment, it is not possible to start a romance with the girl. But do not forget that Sons of the Forest is in early access, and the developers will likely add this feature in the future. The «heart» marker on the GPS radars hints at this possibility.
How to Achieve Maximum Trust Level and What You Can Get as a Reward
Virginia's trust in the player will increase every day. To achieve the girl's maximum trust level, simply avoid attacking or scaring her. Be sure to give her at least one gun and attach a GPS tracker. After a couple of decades of days, you will receive the achievement Chivalry Isn't Dead.
