Where to Find Wheat in Bellwright
There are several ways to obtain wheat in Bellwright, but let's start with the most obvious one — foraging. To get wheat, you need to find fields where it grows. The first such field can be found south of the settlement of Padstow. Just follow the road down from it and look for the mill icon. However, be warned that this is a guarded camp: if the bandits spot you, they will definitely attack!
You can gather the resource stealthily. Just approach the edge of one of the fields, take as much as you need, and leave before you are detected. Return here whenever necessary.
How to Grow Wheat, Get Grain and Straw
The second method: build a Gatherer's Camp near the wheat fields. However, doing this near an enemy outpost is a bad idea, as bandits will constantly attack you.
To plant wheat in your own settlement, you will need to understand the technologies at the research table. To do this, study the blueprints in the following sequence:
- Gatherer's Camp.
- Mud Collector and Shovel — needs to be placed in specially designated areas marked on the map with a mud icon (you need to craft a shovel at the workbench for 1 copper ingot and 8 wood). You can also collect a few units of mud yourself using the shovel.
- Farm and Hoe.
- Threshing Machine (needed for processing wheat to get grain and straw).
To study the Farm and Hoe technology, you will also need to gather garlic. It can be found east of the Padstow settlement. However, be careful: bandits often roam this road.
Once you have built the farm, start researching the Threshing Machine at the research table. You will need wheat and rope for this. We have already mentioned where to find the first resource, and rope can be made from hemp and flax at the Loom. You can learn more about it from this guide.
Use the threshing machine to create grain from wheat, then set up a farm, create a hoe (you'll need to smelt copper ore and gather wood), and plant the crop. Note that without water, the crop will grow slower, but it will still grow. You can also create a Water Collector and then a Well.
As for Straw, you can make it using the threshing machine, but this resource is not suitable for building structures. You will need to process the obtained bundle at the Loom to get Thatch.
