Vaults in Borderlands 4 allow you to store weapons and equipment you don’t need right now, but might want to use later. With their help, it’s easy to free up space in your inventory and pick up new gear without worry. This is an important element of the game, and in this guide, we’ll tell you where to find bank vaults and how to use them.
How the Storage System Works
Access to the storage system is provided through bank vaults, which aren’t very numerous in the game. You can leave found weapons in them and pick them up later, all free of charge. Sometimes you’ll find gear that’s only useful in certain situations, but your inventory is already full — that’s when the storage system really helps out. Note that the vault is shared between all your characters. So, if you put an item in the bank, when you switch to another character, this weapon will still be available in the system and you’ll be able to retrieve it.
Weapon storage slots are limited, so players will need to expand the vault — for this, you’ll need SDU tokens.
Where to Find Vaults
There are a total of 4 bank vaults in Borderlands 4. You can unlock them as you progress through the story, but their exact locations are listed below:
- The Launchpad (The Launchpad)
- Carcadia (Carcadia)
- Belton's Bore (Belton's Bore)
- Bones of Sanctuary (Bones of Sanctuary)
The First Vault
The Launchpad is home to the Outbounders faction. The first vault is located in the building where you can get various services, and there are also vending machines here.
The Second Vault
The second vault is inside the main building of Carcadia. Once inside, turn left and head northwest. The vault will be located between two vending machines.
The Third Vault
Finding the third vault is also not difficult, unlike traveling through the Belton's Bore region. From the fast travel machine, turn right and go up the stairs. The vault will be at the very top.
The Fourth Vault
The last vault is actually the easiest to reach. It’s located in the outdoor area, to the left of the vending machine.
