Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2: How to Get All Blood Types
Vladislav Sham
Blood is one of the main resources in Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2. Getting it isn’t very difficult, but the process is rather monotonous. In this guide, we’ll tell you how to quickly get lots of blood and why you need it.
What Types of Blood Are There
While traveling through snowy Seattle, you can see the world through a vampire’s eyes. To do this, use heightened senses. You’ll then be able to see the circulatory systems of people. Here’s a list of all blood colors:
- White — belongs to ordinary citizens and gives you health points.
- Gold — belongs to police officers, gives health points and a bit of experience.
- Red — belongs to cholerics and gives the corresponding blood points.
- Pink — belongs to sanguines and gives the corresponding blood points.
- Purple — belongs to melancholics and gives the corresponding blood points.
Sometimes you’ll see shimmering colors — white mixed with red, pink, or purple. This means the citizen is in a certain mood, but their emotions aren’t strong enough to charge the blood fully. In such cases, you need to talk to people and provoke them.
Cholerics respond to aggression and will chase you to fight. Sanguines need flirting, after which you can lure them into an alley. Melancholics lack confidence, so you should intimidate them; they’ll then run away blindly, and you need to catch them at a moment when no one is watching.
When the colors are vivid, the person is in resonance. Such individuals are marked on the minimap and can be tracked. Partial resonance (shimmering color) is not marked on the map; you have to look for them yourself in the area.
There’s a small nuance worth noting. People with partial resonance may refuse to talk to you if you’re not wearing the right outfit. The game doesn’t tell you this, so you’ll have to figure out the system yourself. For example, sanguines won’t want to flirt if you’re wearing odd rags instead of an expensive suit.
How to Quickly Get Lots of Blood
The main challenge in getting blood is the Masquerade. If you start feeding on someone in the street, people will notice. At best, you won’t get the maximum possible blood points; at worst, you’ll be killed and lose most of your collected resource.
First tip — it’s easiest to catch those already in resonance. They’re shown on the map, and dialogue isn’t that important. The main thing is to make them leave the street by any means.
Second — at the start, choose the Banu Haqim clan or unlock the Invisibility Aura ability from Nyx at the pawnshop. This is a very expensive skill, but when activated, you become invisible for quite a long time. This lets you bite citizens right on the street, speeding up the process even more. Moreover, if someone notices a person in an unnatural state, the Masquerade break will be so slow that you’ll always be able to escape easily, getting the maximum blood points.
By wearing quality outfits, hunting people in full resonance, and using invisibility whenever possible, you’ll quickly build up a large supply of all blood types. Remember: when unlocking clan abilities, blood is consumed, so you’ll need to replenish your reserves regularly.
