The Outer Worlds 2: Fastest Ways to Level Up Every Skill

Vladislav Sham

While playing The Outer Worlds 2, you’ll surely want to unlock all available skills as fast as possible. Note right away that there’s no way to instantly reach the maximum level 30 in the game. However, there are effective ways to gain extra experience. That's what our guide is about.

During your playthrough, you’ll be able to perform various actions that aren’t related to killing enemies. Among them are persuading people in conversations, hacking computers and locks, using medical or engineering skills, and much more. Using such methods will grant you experience points and help you level up faster.

Explore the Open World

You’ll receive additional experience for every discovered location and point of interest. As a result, even wandering around planets without a specific goal will allow you to keep developing your skills and becoming stronger.

Hunt Wild Creatures

But instead of just wandering through unknown territory, it’s better to go hunting for animals. You’ll be generously rewarded with experience points for destroying the local fauna. However, keep in mind that creatures do not respawn over time, so you won’t be able to endlessly farm the same area. After clearing a location, move on to the next section of the map.

Complete Companion Quests and Other Side Quests

Although only two companions can travel with you at a time, there are a total of six companions in the game, each with their own storyline. Completing your allies’ personal quests will also earn you experience.

You should also check bounty boards. These are special terminals found in every city. Using them, you can pick up contracts to eliminate especially powerful enemies. For successfully removing a threat, you'll receive a generous reward.

Activate Foot-in-Mouth Syndrome

Although this skill is considered a flaw, it can help you. To activate Foot-in-Mouth Syndrome, you need to skip all conversations while interacting with characters. Click to advance to the next line before the NPC finishes their previous phrase. As a result, your replies in dialogues will be chosen randomly. However, when this ability is active, you’ll receive 15% more experience for each action.

If leveling up is more important to you than the story, role-playing, or immersion, you can use this method.
