Should You Help the Refugee in The Outer Worlds 2

Vladislav Sham

The Outer Worlds 2 is the long-awaited sequel to the famous space opera RPG-shooter. Players will explore distant extraterrestrial colonies and become involved in the struggle for influence between intergalactic factions. In this guide, we’ll tell you whether you should help the refugee you meet right after arriving on the planet Dorado.

How to Find the Refugee

After completing the story quest The Saboteur of Paradise, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the planet Dorado. On the path from the Alexandra Station Entrance to Matriarch's Mercy shelter, your squad will be approached by a refugee standing next to the wreckage of a train.

The guy will tell a sad story about how he, his wife, and son were heading to the shelter when they were suddenly attacked by animals. As a result, the woman and child were injured and now need urgent help.

Should You Help the Refugee

Listen to the refugee’s sad story. In any case, you’ll have two options: follow him or ignore his request. If you agree, the guy will lead you into a canyon. On the way, you’ll see bloodstains on the rocks, which is already a reason to be wary.

The thing is, he’s not a refugee at all, but a live bait for gullible travelers. Ahead, there’s an ambush of a dozen well-armed scavengers. Therefore, it’s recommended not to agree to the bandit’s request and kill him on the spot. It’s important to understand that the marauders will attack you regardless of whether you agree to help the refugee or not.

Then go around the canyon on the left side and take out all the scavengers from behind. You’ll end up here later during one of the side quests, so it’s better to get rid of the bandits in advance and loot their camp.
