Dispatch is a unique mix of superhero action and interactive cinema, where every decision influences how the story unfolds. The player must lead a not-so-successful team of heroes and assign them to tasks correctly to win public recognition. In this guide, we’ll break down the first major choice in the game — what to throw on Flambe: water or alcohol, and also explain what each decision leads to and how it affects the story.
When the Choice Appears
In the middle of the first episode Transition, the main character Robert Robertson loses his mechanoid. On the street, he encounters bandits who beat him up, but the superheroine Blondie Blazer comes to the rescue.
After that, they go to a superhero bar, where they continue getting to know each other. At one point, Robert spills a drink on Blondie, and she goes to the restroom. Flambe approaches the guy and asks what a regular person is doing in this place.
Who is Flambe
Flambe is a young and bold hero who wields the power of fire. He’s a member of the Phoenixes, a lagging group of supers. Robert will become a member of the superhero dispatch service and, at the same time, their commander.
What to Throw on Flambe
When Flambe comes up to Robert with cheeky questions, he’s already quite drunk. The hero has two glasses in front of him. One with water, and the other with alcohol that Blondie was drinking. In any case, you’ll have to choose what to throw on the troublemaker.
It’s important to clarify that this game belongs to the interactive cinema genre. The whole story is built around the choices the hero makes during the playthrough. This way, relationships between the protagonist and other characters are formed.
What Happens if You Throw Water on Flambe
In this case, the fire in Flambe’s hand will go out, and he’ll get soaked. Naturally, the super will want to take revenge and try to hit Robert. But his hot temper won’t let him notice the ice under his feet.
As a result, the bully will slip and hit the bar counter so hard that he knocks out his front tooth. For the rest of the game, Flambe will walk around with a gap in his teeth.
What Happens if You Throw Alcohol on Flambe
If you do nothing, Robert will throw the glass of alcohol at the troublemaker himself. Flambe will literally catch on fire and, in a rage, run out of the bar. From this moment on, the super will have scorched eyebrows.
This is the first choice in the game with long-term consequences. The decision won’t affect your relationship with Flambe or other characters. Robert will be kicked out of the bar either way, and the bully will be left with a small injury forever.
