Which Hero to Hire in Dispatch
Vladislav Sham
Dispatch is an interactive comic puzzle game with a superhero theme. The story revolves around the fallen hero Mechaman, who has to become the commander of a squad of former villains. In this guide, we’ll tell you who is better to hire: Phenomaсho or Waterboy in Episode 4, “Reform.” You’ll learn the pros and cons of the characters, as well as their abilities.
Why Hire Heroes
In Episode 2, “First Day,” Robert Robertson becomes the commander of the outsider squad “Phoenix.” The superhero dispatcher service has a ranking system, according to which a prolonged stay at the bottom of the table leads to dismissal.
Therefore, at the end of Episode 3, “Turnover,” you’ll have to fire one of two heroes: Sonar, a man with a bat’s head, or Coupe, a former mercenary with iron wings. Which one is best to remove from the team, we’ll describe in a separate article.
In Episode 4, “Reform,” during lunch, Blonde Blazer will ask Robert to replenish the team. For this, she’ll suggest hiring either Phenomaman or Waterboy, about whom we’ll tell you more in the following sections.
What Happens If You Hire Phenomaman
Phenomaman is a humanoid alien with superpowers. He is the face of the SDC. He used to date Blonde Blazer, but after their breakup, he fell into depression. He can fly and starts with very high stats in Fearlessness, Endurance, and Agility.
In his first shift, he may go AWOL. However, after that, he becomes a good option for handling tough requests. Downsides: if a mission ends badly, he may get depressed and take a very long break.
It’s important to note that if you are building a romance with Blonde, Phenomaman’s presence in the squad may negatively affect the relationship between the heroes.
What Happens If You Hire Waterboy
Waterboy can spit water and create puddles. Initially, he applied to SDC as a janitor. The problem is that his starting stats are almost zero. On the plus side, you can build any kind of setup with him.
On his first shift, he may accidentally splash two random heroes with water, making them unavailable until the end of the workday. Also, if you don’t assign Waterboy to requests, he may go on a difficult mission on his own and fail it.
Therefore, whenever possible, assign him to every request, preferably with Gromila. It will be difficult at first, but he can become an interesting combo, such as high “Intelligence” and “Endurance” at the same time. There’s also a perk that increases his maximum stat.
In any case, regardless of your choice, at first all team members will criticize your decision. But then the situation will stabilize, the new hero will integrate into the team, and everything will be as before. So do as you like, keeping in mind that the game can be completed in a few hours, so you can easily try all the possible squad combinations.
