What Is the Final Puzzle About

In the extra content menu, there's only one line next to this achievement: "Let the sweet couple hear the voice."

Below, we'll walk you through the different steps of the puzzle that help you figure out the final solution.

The Severed Hand

Here's how the puzzle starts. You need to pick up the Severed Hand of the "girl" after rescuing Emily from the Rhodes Hill basement and the elevator scene. You can't use it for anything right away, and it just takes up space in your inventory, but it actually has a hidden purpose.

Analyzing the Hand with the Blood Analyzer

Now you can take the severed hand to the hematology lab on the first floor of the east wing or to the office on the second floor of the west wing and analyze it with the blood analyzer. This device is usually used for sample analysis and crafting upgrades for Grace.

A small puzzle with cubes and spheres will appear on the analyzer. Here’s how to solve it:

  • First, click the cube in the center of the screen—it will turn into a sphere;
  • Then click the cube on the far right;
  • Finally, click the cube on the far left.

After this, a black screen will show up on the computer with the following message:

  • Let's play
  • GGC AAG AUA ACG UGU CAU

This is the main code for the puzzle, which you’ll need to solve next.

After this step, your map will update, and the puzzle cabinet in the lead researcher's office will become active again, even if you already solved it earlier.

Hints for the Code

Throughout the game, you can find clues that decode parts of the message from the analyzer screen. You don’t have to find every single one, as we’ll give you the final code below, but here’s how you could discover these hints.

G — Sun

On the microscope you used to analyze the severed hand, you'll see the inscription "G=150000000". 150,000,000 km is the approximate distance from Earth to the Sun. So, G stands for Sun.

U — Moon

In the VIP suite, where you need to find the helicopter key, you’ll find an hourglass. If you look closely, you’ll see the inscription "U=380,000". 380,000 km is the approximate distance from Earth to the Moon. So, U means Moon.

C — Star

In the lab beneath the VIP suite, you can find a document analyzing the blood of the main character, Grace Ashcroft, which says "C=4.2 ly." 4.2 light years is the distance from Earth to the nearest star. So, C stands for star.

A — Extra Letter

You can figure this out in Raccoon City while playing as Leon. After the segment in the Raccoon City police station, you’ll go through Kendo’s gun shop. Here, you’ll see a headless doll that you’ll need to return to later.

For now, head to the basketball court. Near the broken hoop, you’ll find the doll’s head from the shop. Try to have Leon throw the head into the hoop, and you’ll hear Leon comment, “I don’t have time for this.” Now return to Kendo’s shop. You can interact with the doll—you’ll see a message that says, “Just ignore A.” That means A is an extra letter in the code.

The Code

The final code is: GGC-GUC-GUG-UCU.

  • Sun-Sun-Star
  • Sun-Moon-Star
  • Sun-Moon-Sun
  • Moon-Star-Moon

You need to enter this code into the puzzle panel in the lead researcher’s office. Once you enter it correctly, you’ll hear a child laughing. This is the “voice” mentioned in the initial puzzle hint. Now you need to figure out how to let the “sweet couple” hear it.

Puzzle Solution Walkthrough

The code, the music box, and the severed hand are just clues that players found first. “Let the sweet couple hear the voice.” The voice is the laughing child. The sweet couple is Emily and Marie, the Girl. You need to activate the puzzle mechanism in front of Emily and Marie. Here’s how to do it.

Step 1. Wait 15 Minutes in the Meat Processing Room

In Grace’s story, you’ll get to the tunnels beneath the Rhodes Hill rehabilitation center. You’ll need to find three plugs to restore power. The third plug is near the zombie blood tank.

You have to go through the body processing plant, after which you’ll reach a platform with a valve and a save ribbon. Here, you need to watch the bodies being dumped into the blood for 15 minutes.

Step 2. Don’t Kill Zombies in the Grinder Section

After that, turn the valve, the blood will drain, and you’ll need to go down onto the conveyor belt. The belt will start moving toward the grinder. Your task here is not to kill any zombies. Let them fall into the grinder on their own.

Step 3. Return to the Rehabilitation Center

After connecting all three plugs, you can take the elevator up with Emily. There will be a scene involving the Girl's severed hand. You don’t have to pick up the hand or do anything with it.

Step 4. Flush Each Toilet 8 Times

In the west wing of the rehabilitation center, there is a restroom where you can flush the toilets. For the quest, you need to press the flush button on each toilet 8 times.

It’s best to leave Emily in the safe room so you can move around freely.

Step 5. Continue the Story and Pick Up the Marie Doll

Next, you’ll reach the underground complex beneath the VIP suites. During the story, the complex starts collapsing, blood pours out of the tanks, and you need to escape quickly. Before you start climbing the ladder during the escape, you’ll see a doll lying in a pool of blood. This is the Marie doll, and you need to pick it up. You can either store the doll in the item box or keep it in your inventory.

Step 6. Finish the Game

After that, complete the game without any extra actions.

Step 7. Start New Game+ and Play Until the Elevator Segment

In New Game+, you’ll have access to all the items from your previous playthrough, including the Marie doll you picked up in the water before the ladder. You’ll need to play through the game again up to the elevator scene where the Girl loses her hand.

Step 8. Bring Emily and the Doll to the Box and Enter the Code

Now, take Emily and the Marie doll from your inventory to the lead researcher’s office on the second floor of the east wing. Emily should be with you, and the doll should be in your inventory. Then enter the code:

  • Sun-Sun-Star
  • Sun-Moon-Star
  • Sun-Moon-Sun
  • Moon-Star-Moon

You will now unlock the Final Puzzle achievement.
