Pragmata Creator Boss Guide — How to Beat the Mass Production Array Boss
Vladislav Sham
The Creator is the second major boss in Pragmata, encountered in the Mass Production area. In this guide, we’ll cover how to prepare for the fight, which attacks you need to remember, and why beating the Creator is less about constant shooting and more about balancing damage, dodging, and hacking at the right moments.
The Creator is a massive robot, and the battle takes place in a wide-open arena that looks like a ruined city rooftop. Unlike the first boss, the Sector Guardian, the Creator not only deals massive damage and closes the distance quickly, but also makes it much harder to use Diana’s hacking by constantly mixing up his attacks.
How to Prepare for the Creator Fight
The Creator is waiting for you at the very end of the Mass Production sector, but you cannot reach him right away. First, you’ll need to unlock the huge gates by finding several nodes scattered throughout the area. This will take some time, so treat this part less as a delay and more as a chance to get ready for the boss fight.
Before the battle, make sure to stop by the Shelter: restock your medkits, check your weapons, and apply any available upgrades. The Creator is a big step up in difficulty, so going in with empty pockets and an unprepared arsenal is almost a guaranteed way to end up retrying the fight.
Which Weapons Are Best for the Creator
Weapons with high single-target damage are especially useful, letting you deal a lot of damage during short vulnerability windows. In the Creator fight, it’s not about nonstop shooting, but about hitting hard and fast when the boss is open.
The Creator’s First Phase
Your main goal during the fight is to shoot the Creator in the face. This is the easiest spot to hit consistently, especially when the boss is right in front of you and not covering his body.
When the Creator opens up, a weak spot appears on the lower part of his body. Hitting this area deals extra damage, but aiming for it is trickier because of the angle. That’s why during hacking, it’s most effective to use the Freeze node. This locks the Creator in place for a while, giving you enough time to land several accurate shots on the weak spot.
In the first phase, the Creator uses three main attacks:
- Arm swing in front — The Creator attacks in a wide horizontal arc. Simply backing away often doesn't work, since the edge of the swing can still hit you. It's more reliable to dodge through the danger zone, using the brief invulnerability window during your dash.
- Dash across the arena — Here, you need to avoid the boss’s limbs. You can get through this attack unharmed if you move out of the Creator’s path in time. Don’t try to stand right in front of him; instead, shift to the side in advance and wait for the dash to finish.
- Laser attack — If the Creator stands still and sweeps the laser across the arena, it’s best to dodge toward the attack, just like with the arm swing. If the laser is used during a dash, don’t try to run directly away from the boss — it’s safer to move sideways, out of his path.
How Hacking Works in the Creator Fight
Hacking, just like with other enemies, reveals the boss’s weak spots, which is where you should focus your damage. This is a key mechanic in the fight: without hacking, you’ll do much less damage to the Creator, and the battle will drag out and become much more dangerous.
After a few successful hacks, the Creator starts blocking the hacking panels. Antennas with a red glow appear on his body — you need to shoot these to break the shield and unlock hacking again.
In the first phase, antennas appear on the sides of the boss. In the second phase, extra antennas start showing up on the Creator’s back as well. This makes the fight harder, since you’ll have to reposition more often and keep an eye on both the attacks and the new targets on the boss’s body.
Destroying the antennas is absolutely necessary to win. Losing access to hacking means you can’t activate weak spots and your damage drops significantly. So, as soon as antennas appear on the Creator, switch your focus to them first. Only after they’re destroyed should you go back to your regular attacks and trying to open up weak points.
The Creator’s Second Phase
In the second phase, the Creator becomes more aggressive and gains new, dangerous moves. Here, it’s especially important to keep your distance, avoid getting stuck at the edge of the arena, and always watch for the start of attack animations.
The first new attack is a wave that travels across the arena from the far side toward you. As soon as you see the animation start, immediately run in the opposite direction. If you react quickly, you’ll have enough time to avoid the hit, but any delay will almost certainly get you damaged.
The second attack is the most dangerous in the entire fight. Before it happens, the arena glows red for a few seconds and the boss takes a while to charge up. If this attack hits your character, you will be left with just 1 HP, no matter how much health you had before.
There are only two ways to survive: either run to the opposite side of the arena or quickly climb onto the buildings that appear. If you reach the top, you’ll be above the damage zone and can avoid the hit. The main thing is not to try dodging or healing through this attack—these won’t save you.
General Strategy and Tips for Fighting the Creator
The best strategy against the Creator is simple: keep a medium distance, don’t stand right in front of the boss, shoot at his face, and switch to the antennas as soon as they appear. When hacking becomes available, use Diana to freeze or immobilize the Creator and hit the exposed weak spot. After that, back off, reset your position, and get ready for the next attack cycle.
Don’t try to play too aggressively. The Creator punishes greed—if you linger for an extra burst, you might get hit by an arm swing, laser, or dash. It’s better to deal damage in short bursts and always leave space for dodging.
Be especially careful in the second half of the fight, when the boss interferes with hacking more often and adds more glowing zones that you need to destroy. The biggest mistake at this stage is to keep shooting at the boss’s face and ignore the antennas. If you do that, you’ll quickly lose access to hacking and your main way of dealing high damage.
The key rule in the fight with the Creator is to remember that this isn’t just a shootout, but a battle with clear phase changes. First, survive and break the hacking shield, then use Diana to open up the weak spot, and only after that pour on the damage. If you stick to this rhythm, the boss stops feeling chaotic and turns into a clear test of your reaction, positioning, and ability to switch between shooting and hacking at the right moment.
Final Phase of the Fight
When the Creator’s health drops to zero, the fight still isn’t over. The game starts a final hacking sequence: you’ll need to reach the Open Node within a time limit. Failing here means death, so take it just as seriously as the rest of the battle.
Don’t rush to pick the first path you see. Quickly look over the node layout, find a safe route, and only then move toward the goal. If you complete the hack successfully, the Creator will finally be defeated, the Shelter will get an upgrade, and you’ll unlock access to the next sector.
