How to Win the Jewel of Jahari in 007 First Light

In Chapter 4, The Past Never Dies, in 007 First Light, Bond needs to earn $100,000 in Aleph's Black Market. One of the fastest ways to make money is to complete the optional Jewel of Jahari objective, win the stolen gem in the local cup game, and return it to Nirmala for a reward. In this guide, we will explain where to start the quest, how to beat Aadan, and why you need to use the Q-Lens.

Tip: The cup game is rigged. If you try to follow the jewel normally, Bond will almost certainly lose money. To win, you need to use the Q-Lens and track the gem through the scan.

Do not rush into talking to the man running the cup game right away. First, let us explain why you need to win it at all. Head to the center of the Black Market and look for the stall where a woman named Nirmala calls out to you.

Talk to her to learn that the scammer running the cup game stole her precious gem. After choosing the dialogue option Anything I can do for you?, you will receive the optional objective Jewel of Jahari. Before going to Aadan and playing the cup game, save up $3,500. You can get the money in the fighting pit or by pickpocketing two soldiers in the market.

Aadan is clearly cheating, so even if you carefully follow the correct cup, the jewel will not be underneath it. Bond, however, has a better trick. Hold L1/LB to activate the Q-Lens. The jewel will be highlighted in orange, allowing you to track it while Aadan moves the cups and choose the correct one every time.

If you use the Q-Lens correctly, the cup with the item should remain your focus, and the jewel itself will glow orange. If there is no highlight, the scan was not applied correctly. Do not choose a cup blindly. Even if it looks like the jewel is in the middle, Aadan can still trick Bond without the Q-Lens.

Aadan will not hand over the jewel immediately. First, several nearby guards need to put pressure on him, and only after that will he give the gem to Bond.

If you guess correctly, you will receive the jewel and can then return it to Nirmala. She will reward you with $30,000, and you will quickly complete the Cupped challenge tied to the shell game. That still will not be enough to buy your way into the auction, but it will bring you much closer to the $100,000 target.

The best order is simple: talk to Nirmala first, save up $3,500, go to Aadan, use the Q-Lens during the cup game, and return the Jewel of Jahari to its owner. This way, you get a large reward without risking your money on a rigged mini-game.
