DragonSword: Awakening Leveling Guide: How to Level Up Fast

Leveling in DragonSword: Awakening is built around a clear hierarchy of activities, smart use of key resources, and understanding the game's progression limits. In this guide, we will explain how to raise your account level quickly, where to spend Stamina, which quests to prioritize, and how to avoid spreading materials too thin across your heroes.

The Main Way to Gain EXP in DragonSword: Awakening

The main driver of your account level is the main story campaign. Story quests give a lot of EXP for minimal time investment, while also unlocking core mechanics, new regions, underground locations, and additional modes. Push through the story until the game puts a hard level gate in your way. Only then should you switch to side activities.

Which Activities to Prioritize for Leveling

When the story is temporarily unavailable, your task priority should look like this:

  1. Main story chapters always come first. They give EXP and unlock mechanics, regions, and locations.
  2. Solo instances and Dungeons give EXP, equipment, and upgrade crystals.
  3. Side and regional quests help fill the missing EXP needed to reach the next story level requirement.
  4. Map exploration: chests, teleport points, and monuments provide a steady flow of EXP and resources without spending energy.

Do not skip Hero Quests. They not only help unlock new characters, but also give account EXP, materials, and additional reasons to return to regions you have already opened. If the story is temporarily locked behind a level requirement, check available Hero Quests first, then move on to repeat Dungeon farming.

Daily Quests

Daily quests are your main and most stable source of EXP over time. Make sure to complete 100% of the daily activity bar every day. Filling the bar gives you not only a solid amount of account EXP, but also summon-related thread/prayers and consumables.

Never leave your Stamina capped. Every point of energy spent helps your account progress, so at the end of a play session, burn your remaining Stamina in resource Dungeons.

Do Not Waste Quick Clears on Weak Tasks

If the game has a quick clear function for requests or commissions, do not spend it carelessly. It is better to save these skips for more valuable tasks with rare upgrade materials, while simple requests can be completed manually when you have time.

Leveling Limits and Progression Gates

DragonSword: Awakening has several types of soft and hard restrictions. Let us break down each of them.

Daily EXP Limit

At the start of new servers, there may be a cap on the maximum account level available per day. Once you hit the daily ceiling, EXP either stops being awarded or is converted into an alternative currency.

Stamina Limit

Energy is a limited resource. Buying energy packs with crystals can make sense at the start, but F2P players should avoid spending too much premium currency on it.

Hero Level Requirements

A character's level cannot exceed your current account level.

Do Not Forget Master Skills

After reaching level 30, a hero unlocks a Master Skill. This is an important power spike, so you should not judge a character only by their current level. Sometimes a hero with unlocked passive bonuses and an upgraded skill tree will be more useful than a higher-level character without key upgrades.

Who to Level First in DragonSword: Awakening

One of the biggest mistakes beginners make is trying to level the entire collection at once. Below, we will explain how to distribute resources between heroes without slowing down your overall progress.

Building the best team
Building the best team

Priority No. 1: Main DPS

Invest most of your resources into one strong damage dealer, preferably a character with high area-of-effect damage. This will let you clear enemy waves quickly and get through difficult solo content.

Priority No. 2: Support or Sub-DPS

Next, level a support character or a second damage dealer. This character should help your main DPS survive, continue combos, apply debuffs, or activate important effects.

The Rest of the Team

The remaining party members can lag slightly behind in level during the early game. It is enough for them to perform their roles: apply debuffs, activate resonances, or help the main DPS extend combos.

How to Avoid Spreading Resources Too Thin

Character EXP and ascension materials are scarce resources, especially after level 40. Follow a few rules so you do not waste them.

The One-Team Rule

Focus on one main team. Do not level situational heroes until your core lineup hits its current progression cap.

Using Resets

If you accidentally invested resources into the wrong hero, check whether there is a reset or resource refund function. If it is available, you can use it to recover some of the spent materials and redistribute them more quickly between your main characters.

Planning Synergy

Build your party around the strengths of your main DPS so you do not have to change your lineup every few levels.

Level the Skill Tree, Not Just the Character

Do not stop at simply raising a hero's level. Regularly check passive skills, combo upgrades, and improvements that affect character switching. In DragonSword: Awakening, a hero with unlocked synergies can bring more value than a higher-level character without upgraded key nodes.

What to Do After Hitting a Level Gate

If you hit a story level gate and have used up your daily energy limit, do the following:

  • Clear the map. Open chests, solve puzzles, and activate viewpoints. The map provides a large amount of resources and hidden EXP without spending Stamina.
  • Farm equipment and ascension materials. Clear available Dungeon floors to prepare your gear for the next level spike.
  • Do not forget guild content. Take part in guild bosses and co-op quests. They give valuable guild shop currency.
  • Go to the Tower of Trials. Clear floors of the Tower of Trials that do not require Stamina to collect one-time rewards.
  • Look for treasure maps and hidden rewards. In ruins, caves, and other locations, you can find chests, upgrade materials, and items tied to further hero progression. This is a good way to grow stronger without wasting extra Stamina.
  • When the game brings you to the Shelter, do not ignore basic hub upgrades. First, check storage and inventory expansion: the less space unnecessary items take up, the easier it is to farm the map, collect materials, and avoid returning to town after every short expedition.
