Silent Hill: Townfall All 7 Resource Container and Lockbox Key Locations

Silent Hill: Townfall contains 7 locked Resource Containers, each of which requires a separate Lockbox Key. Opening all seven caches unlocks the Resourceful achievement. In this guide, we'll show you where to find every Lockbox Key and Resource Container.

These caches can make a real difference to your survival, as they contain useful items such as consumables and ammunition that become especially valuable in later chapters. There is one important detail that is easy to miss: Resource Containers and their keys only appear during Simon's chapters. If you are playing as Zoe or Richard, these caches are physically absent from the locations, so do not waste time searching for something that simply cannot be there.

The good news is that all 7 key and container pairs can be collected in a single playthrough. However, the caches themselves are optional, so some of them are easy to miss while progressing through the story.

Before going through the locations, it helps to understand how these caches are placed. A Lockbox Key is never found in the same room as its Resource Container, but it is usually not far away either. It is typically in an adjacent room, on another floor of the same building, or somewhere along the route to your objective. Resource Containers are almost always out in the open, sitting on a table, countertop, or floor, so they can usually be spotted from a distance. However, you cannot open one without the corresponding key. To unlock the trophy, you must actually open all 7 containers, not simply pass by them, so once you find a key, it is best to track down its container right away.

Note that Part 5, where you play as Richard, contains no keys or Resource Containers, so it is not included in the list below. The caches appear in Parts 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6, but only during Simon's sections.

The first Lockbox Key is inside Jess's House in the southern part of the Shorefront District. Go inside and head straight to the kitchen. The key can be found in one of the drawers.

The Resource Container itself is inside the apartment building south of the building marked 14 on the map, directly opposite Jess's House. Enter apartment 0/1 on the ground floor and check the living room, where you will find a blue container in plain sight. Open it with the key you just picked up in the kitchen.

The second Lockbox Key is inside another apartment building in the Shorefront District, this time in the northern section, south of the Medical Centre. Make your way through the building until you reach the scaffolding, use it to cross into the neighboring section, then climb to the second floor. An enemy will be waiting inside apartment 1/1, so clear the room first, then pick up the key from the bed.

The container is in the same building, but you need to go higher, up to the fourth floor. There is a table with the Resource Container on the landing. The key from apartment 1/1 opens it.

The third Lockbox Key is hidden in the Different version of the Medical Center, in Ward W. Enter Room 11 and check the key cabinet on the wall. The key is inside.

The Resource Container is in Ward S, inside Room 01. There is an important detail here: this room remains locked until you collect the blood bag in Ward W on the floor below. Once you have it, Room 01 becomes accessible, and you will find the container on the floor inside.

One Lockbox Key is inside the Post Service building on Atlas Way, on the Ground Level of Clara Woods Estate, in the same room as the phone used for a story-related call. Check the cash register at the front of the room.

The Resource Container for this key is inside the apartment building northeast of Atlas Square. There is no need to go upstairs. The container is on the ground floor, in the kitchen at the far end of the building, sitting on the counter. Open it with the key from the Post Service building.

The next Lockbox Key is hidden in the laundromat. After obtaining the bolt cutters, return to the Post Service building and use them to open the way into the alley behind it. Follow the alley all the way to the laundromat at the end. Once inside, look to the left. The key is sitting on top of one of the washing machines.

Its Resource Container is inside the CEG Lockers building. Head into the back office, where you will find the container on a table. Open it with the key from the laundromat.

The final two key and container pairs are found in SWDP – Different, which Simon reaches near the end of the game. Here, you will need the Remote Systems Control console in the control room, which allows you to remotely unlock doors using their three-digit IDs.

The key is on the main floor of SWDP. Go up the stairs in the southern part of the room and enter the room to the west. The Lockbox Key is sitting on a counter inside.

The Resource Container is inside the control room, to the right of the camera control panel. You can reach it after obtaining the Access Card and entering the control room. Open the container with the key you just found.

The final Lockbox Key is on the lower floor of SWDP, inside the room in the northwest corner of the area. First, use the Remote Systems Control console to open Door 047, then head downstairs and enter the room. The key is sitting on a counter.

The final Resource Container is inside the long room with the valves in the eastern part of the area. Use the Remote Systems Control console to unlock Door 621, then head down to the lower level and go inside. The container is on a table near the entrance. Open it with the seventh Lockbox Key to unlock the Resourceful trophy.

Put the entire route together, and hunting down the Resource Containers becomes a worthwhile side activity that fits naturally alongside the main story of Silent Hill: Townfall and requires very little backtracking. Just make sure to thoroughly check drawers, tables, and beds in the rooms listed above, and avoid rushing into cutscenes before exploring optional areas, especially in Chapter 10, where it is easy to miss two caches at once.
