Yesterday, Variety reported that Amazon MGM has acquired full control over the James Bond franchise. Immediately after the deal, the company's CEO Jeff Bezos decided to ask fans who they want to see as Agent 007.
The Amazon founder posted on Instagram with the news that his company now fully owns the Bond franchise, and at the same time conducted a poll of subscribers. Most commentators supported the candidacy of Henry Cavill:

Some viewers would also like to see Tom Holland, James Norton, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Robert Downey Jr., and Tom Hardy in the role.
Deadline followed up by reporting that the Bond deal cost Amazon MGM over a billion dollars. Presumably, the franchise is in for a major reboot and a departure from the usual formula of classic films.
Henry Cavill himself auditioned for the role of James Bond early in his acting career, but was unsuccessful. Archived audition footage accidentally leaked online 20 years later.
