The Playlist: 'Fight Club' Director to Helm 'Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood' Sequel Written by Tarantino

According to The Playlist, Netflix is developing a sequel to Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood, with David Fincher (Fight Club, Gone Girl) set to direct. Brad Pitt is also expected to reprise his role as Cliff Booth. The report contains no hints of an April Fools’ joke.

The screenplay was written by Quentin Tarantino himself, marking the first time in his career that he will serve solely as a writer. Sources say Tarantino personally approached Fincher because he didn’t want the script to gather dust in a drawer.

The Playlist also reports that Margot Robbie may appear in the film, and industry insider Jeff Sneider has heard that Leonardo DiCaprio could return for a few scenes as Rick Dalton.

Filming is expected to begin in July, with a reported budget of $200 million. Tarantino’s script allegedly cost $20 million.
