Rumor: Alien and Predator Franchises May Be Preparing Audiences for a Major Crossover

Renowned film insider Jeff Sneider has reported that the sequel to Alien: Romulus may feature the Predator. Meanwhile, eagle-eyed viewers have spotted a reference to the Weyland-Yutani Corporation in the recent trailer for the film Predator: Badlands.
According to Sneider, the script for Fede Álvarez’s Alien: Romulus follow-up at the very least mentions the Predator—or may even hint at a full-fledged role. The director himself hasn't denied the possibility of a crossover; back in February, he even shared his ideas for a new installment of Alien vs. Predator.
While Sneider emphasizes that this information is based on rumors, the latest trailer for Predator: Badlands includes a few easter eggs that further fuel crossover speculation. Fans noticed that the eyes of Elle Fanning’s character briefly reflect the logo of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation—the iconic company from the Alien franchise. The same emblem also appears on her uniform.
For context, Predator: Badlands is set in the distant future, where a young hunter, exiled from his clan, encounters a girl and sets off on a dangerous journey. The film is directed by Dan Trachtenberg, known for 2022’s Prey, and is scheduled to premiere on November 7.
Additionally, this year will see the release of the TV series Alien: Earth, whose teaser has sparked fan theories with a possible Predator reference as well.
