Fast & Furious Finale to Bring Back Brian and Street Racing — Vin Diesel Reveals Release Date

Vin Diesel confirmed at FuelFest in Los Angeles that Fast X: Part 2 will hit theaters in April 2027. According to Diesel, the film will return to the franchise’s roots — street racing and LA car culture, where it all began. He also revealed that the finale will feature the return of Brian O’Conner, the character played by Paul Walker.

Paul Walker tragically died in a car accident in 2013, but his character has already appeared in Fast X through archival footage. Now, fans are eager to see how the reunion between Dominic Toretto and Brian will unfold — many believed the franchise had already given Walker’s character a proper farewell.

There’s also some intrigue around Dwayne Johnson’s involvement. Johnson, who plays Luke Hobbs in the Fast & Furious series, had a well-publicized feud with Diesel, but both have stated that they’ve reconciled and are ready to work together again for the fans and the franchise’s success.

By the way, back in February, Vin Diesel teased fans with a video of himself in the iconic Riddick look from the new film — a project fans have been waiting over a decade for.
