The global release of James Gunn’s Superman has unexpectedly sparked a debate among The Witcher fans, as viewers have begun envisioning Lois Lane actress Rachel Brosnahan as a potential Yennefer of Vengerberg.

A viral Reddit post by user Tolkfan showcased an edited image of Brosnahan with darker hair and violet eyes, arguing that the actress would be an ideal fit for the sorceress character from Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels and the popular video game series. The post quickly gained over 10,000 upvotes and prompted a wide discussion.

Rachel Brosnahan, the new Lois Lane, would have made a great Yennefer

While many agreed with the idea, others criticized the current Witcher Netflix series and proposed different casting choices — including Denise Gough (Andor) and Eva Green.

Even the greatest look-alike would not save this travesty of a script. People behind the show simply don't give a fuck about the story and wanted to make their own series with "witcher" name slapped on it. I thought I grew indifferent to it, but you just reminded me we'll probably never get a decent tv adaptation thanks to these hacks and it makes my blood boil.

She's got the looks, but does she have the attitude? Honestly you can just give me Denise Gough with a black wig, it doesn't get better than that anymore.

I’ve always envisioned Eva Green as Yennefer, but Rachel with dark hair would also fit the description.

She is gorgeous and one of my favourite actors because of Mrs. Maisel. But no, not as Yennefer. She is too soft and pretty. She doesn't have that energy.

Anya Chalotra, Freya Allen, and Henry Cavill were great casting. Bad writing is what ruined the Netflix series.

Dude hell yes, whenever I see this woman I immediately think how great of a casting she could be as Yennefer, glad I’m not the only one who think this.

Meanwhile, Superman is off to a strong start with a $55 million opening, including $22.5 million from previews — the best opening day in James Gunn’s career. According to Deadline, the film’s debut even outpaces Warner Bros. blockbusters like Barbie and The Batman.
