Quentin Tarantino Names His Best Films

Quentin Tarantino, who loves making lists of favorite movies, has shared which of his own films he considers the most important in his career. In a recent interview, the filmmaker reflected on which projects stand out as defining works.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is my favorite, Inglourious Basterds is my best. But I think Kill Bill is the ultimate Quentin movie, like nobody else could’ve made it. Every aspect about it is so particularly ripped, like with tentacles and bloody tissue, from my imagination and my id and my loves and my passion and my obsession.

So I think Kill Bill is the movie I was born to make, I think Inglourious Basterds is my masterpiece, but Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is my favorite.

The director also ranked his films by screenplay quality. At the top again is Inglourious Basterds, followed by The Hateful Eight and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Tarantino is now searching for the right material for his tenth and final film. It was originally going to be The Movie Critic, but he dropped the idea at the last minute, saying that a film about someone who just loves cinema eventually felt too boring.

Meanwhile, filming has begun in Los Angeles on a spinoff of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, centered on the adventures of Cliff Booth. The script was written by Tarantino himself, with David Fincher directing.
