Another Major Recasting Announced for Netflix’s The Witcher Series

The fourth season of Netflix’s The Witcher will see another major recasting. In addition to Henry Cavill being replaced by Liam Hemsworth as Geralt, Vesemir will now be played by Peter Mullan, taking over the role from Kim Bodnia.

The reason for the change is a scheduling conflict. Kim Bodnia was unable to align his other projects with The Witcher filming schedule. In season four, Vesemir—along with Lambert and Coën—will return as part of the main storyline, rather than just in flashbacks.

Peter Mullan is a seasoned Scottish actor known for roles in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (as Durin III), Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (as Yaxley), and Westworld (as James Delos).

According to Redanian Intelligence, season four of The Witcher is expected to premiere in late October this year. You can check out Liam Hemsworth’s new look as Geralt here. Currently, the series holds a 7.9 rating on IMDb.

Meanwhile, The Witcher 4 game is in development, and it was recently revealed that it will include elements from the new Geralt of Rivia novel. CD Projekt has also shared details about the number of developers currently working on the project.
