The upcoming December release of Avatar: Fire and Ash has received a new trailer, footage, and an official poster. James Cameron’s sci-fi cinematic universe will be expanded with the third film on December 19.

This time, the main characters will face not only Miles Quaritch, played by Stephen Lang, but also a hostile tribe of fire-worshipping Na’vi, led by Varanga, portrayed by Oona Chaplin. It seems that even the antagonists might develop some relationships of their own.

Viewers will also witness numerous battles, including naval and aerial combat, as well as new abilities for the main characters — for instance, Spider will learn to breathe Pandora’s air and become a kind of human-Na’vi hybrid. As for Jake Sully, played by Sam Worthington, he will finally take a direct stand against the humans.

Earlier, another official still from Avatar: Fire and Ash was released. Reactions to the first trailer can be found here.
