American WWE wrestler Adam Joseph Scherr, better known to fans as Braun Strowman, has confirmed that he’s in talks to join the upcoming revival of the Friday the 13th franchise. He revealed that he’d love to take on the iconic role of Jason Voorhees—and he’s even willing to shave off his trademark beard for the part.

Scherr hinted that discussions are already underway with his agency and industry contacts about the mysterious project, though details remain under wraps for now.

There may be some talks about it with people that I know and my agency. If we could ever get everybody to get back on the same page and allow the things to work, I might be the next Voorhees.

Most recently, Adam Joseph Scherr appeared in the film Deathgasm 2: Goremageddon, where he played a security guard. The movie is a sequel to the 2015 horror film and follows metalhead Brodie as he tries to resurrect his fallen bandmates for an upcoming "battle of the bands."

As for Friday the 13th, a new game based on the franchise is also in development.

The previous adaptation, Friday the 13th: The Game, was an asymmetrical online horror title released in 2017. However, the servers were shut down in 2024 after the game’s license expired.

On a related note, new games based on other legendary horror franchises—Halloween and Hellraiser—have also been announced.
