Universal Pictures has dropped a brand-new trailer for the highly anticipated horror film The Black Phone 2, directed by Scott Derrickson—the filmmaker behind hits like Sinister, Doctor Strange, The Day the Earth Stood Still, and The Exorcism of Emily Rose.

The trailer opens with a chilling atmosphere as a haunting voiceover muses on the nature of hell: “They take the best parts of you, the human parts, and leave only the worst … only the sins.”

Set four years after 13-year-old Finney became the only victim to kill his abductor and escape, The Black Phone 2 follows the terrifying aftermath. Evil, it turns out, is stronger than death—the Grabber is back for revenge, now haunting Finney’s younger sister Gwen through mysterious calls from the black phone and disturbing visions of the "Alpine Lake" camp.

The footage teases both familiar and new faces, dramatic moments, a wintry camp setting, and hints at supernatural secrets tied to Gwen and Finney’s family history. The trailer’s finale ratchets up the tension as the characters brace themselves to confront a new supernatural nightmare head-on.

Returning stars include Ethan Hawke, Mason Thames, and Madeleine McGraw. The cast also features Demian Bichir, Arianna Rivas, Miguel Mora, Jeremy Davies, and more.

The Black Phone 2 is set to premiere on October 17 this year.
