Kirsten Dunst Says She’d Return as Mary Jane in Spider-Man—If Her Character and Peter Had a Child

Actress Kirsten Dunst revealed in an interview with YouTuber SUPES that she’d be interested in reprising her role as Mary Jane Watson in Spider-Man 4—if that movie ever became a reality.
She’s referring to the universe where Tobey Maguire plays Peter Parker. Dunst admitted that she’d never really thought about continuing Mary Jane’s story in a future Spider-Man film where she and Peter might have a child together.
She said that while the idea feels complicated and a little daunting, she’d be intrigued to explore themes of parenthood and Mary Jane’s character growth if the opportunity arose.
Dunst emphasized that it would be exciting to step back into the role and see how the stakes would change for the characters and their family if the story moved forward. She added that any final decision would depend on fan interest and the strength of the script’s concept.
As many know, a fourth Tobey Maguire Spider-Man film was actually in the works at one point, but the script never reached the desired level, and the franchise was ultimately rebooted.
By the way, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, starring Tom Holland, is set to premiere in July 2026. The film is expected to feature appearances by Hulk, Scorpion, Mister Negative, and The Punisher.
