Nintendo Officially Reveals Link and Zelda’s Look in The Legend of Zelda Movie
Nintendo has unveiled the first official photos from the set of its upcoming The Legend of Zelda movie. The images show the actors in full costume: Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link and Bo Bragason as Zelda. These photos, released through the Nintendo Today app, officially confirm that production on the film is underway.
Previously, there had been leaks from the set in New Zealand, where fans caught a glimpse of the actors filming a forest scene. It’s rumored that Dichen Lachman will play Zelda’s companion, Impa, though this hasn’t been officially confirmed.
In the photos, Zelda’s costume closely resembles her look from Breath of the Wild, while Link sports a dark green tunic reminiscent of his design in Twilight Princess.
The project was officially announced in November 2023. Shigeru Miyamoto is producing, with Avi Arad also attached to the project. Wes Ball is directing, and the screenplay is written by Derek Connolly. The film is scheduled to premiere on May 7, 2027.
Recently, Nintendo also released the first trailer for the animated film The Super Mario Galaxy, which is set to hit theaters in April 2026.
