Following a recent Daily Mail report claiming that Millie Bobby Brown had filed a complaint against her co-star David Harbour over alleged harassment and bullying during the lead-up to the final season of Stranger Things, the actress has spoken out for the first time, emphasizing that their relationship remains friendly and warm.

Despite the media headlines, Brown and Harbour appeared together at the world premiere of Season 5 in Los Angeles. The two happily posed on the red carpet, showing a united front. The Daily Mail also reported that Netflix conducted an internal investigation into the claims over several months, though no allegations of a sexual nature were made.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Brown explained why she and Harbour appeared so close at the premiere, saying it wasn’t an attempt to “sweep anything under the rug,” but rather reflected their real-life relationship built over years of working together.

"We’ve been doing that for the last 10 years. We’ve always been united in that. We love this show with everything we have, and we value our friendship more than anything," Brown said, stressing that the challenges had not affected their mutual respect.

Brown also noted that filming the final season brought them closer, as their characters—Eleven and Hopper—share significantly more screen time than in previous seasons.

It was quite nostalgic because it reminded me so much of season two and three, where we’re both kind of butting heads and she’s growing up, she’s trying to find her own voice and he’s trying to parent, and that dynamic definitely comes back into play once again, and I’m really excited for people to see that. And I think some of people’s favorite scenes of Eleven are Ele and [Hopper], so I’m really excited to have that come to screen once again.

The show’s creators—Matt Duffer and Shawn Levy—declined to comment on any potential conflict between the actors, citing it as a personal matter. They did, however, stress that over ten years of filming, the cast and crew have become like family, and maintaining a safe and respectful set has always been a priority. Levy also added that many of the circulating rumors were “heavily distorted.”

Season 5 of Stranger Things premiered on Netflix with its first four episodes, receiving rave reviews from fans and critics. The remaining four episodes will be released in two parts on December 27 and January 1.
