Scarlett Johansson May Join The Batman — Part II — and It’s Directly Connected to One of DC’s Key Villains

According to insiders, Scarlett Johansson is in talks for a role in Matt Reeves’ The Batman – Part II. If confirmed, her appearance would serve as an important narrative signal for the entire Batman universe.

As reported by The InSneider, the actress is being considered for the role of Gilda Gold — a character well-known to DC Comics fans. In the canon, she is the wife of Harvey Dent, the future Two-Face. This strongly hints at the long-awaited introduction of Dent himself into Reeves’ Gotham.

It is said that the studio is simultaneously casting two roles — Harvey Dent and his father, Christopher Dent. Earlier rumors claimed that Matt Reeves had considered Brad Pitt for the role of Christopher, but they never materialized. The Hollywood Reporter directly refuted the claim in a recent update.

It is also noted that filming of the sequel is scheduled to begin in May. Matt Reeves will once again direct and co-write the screenplay, working alongside Mattson Tomlin. Robert Pattinson, Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell are all expected to return to their roles.

The Batman – Part II is set to premiere on October 1, 2027. According to early reports, the plot will focus on a major new investigation by the Dark Knight and delve deeper into Gotham’s corruption after the catastrophic flooding depicted in the first film and The Penguin series. Filming will take place in England and Scotland.

Insiders say Johansson entered talks for the project back in December, though DC Studios has not yet officially confirmed her involvement.
